Joseph Atkins is a psychology professional specializing in behavioral science, trauma-informed care, and nature-integrated wellness. Currently completing his undergraduate degree in Psychology with a double minor in Sociology at Northeastern State University, he brings a rare blend of academic insight, clinical leadership, and therapeutic innovation.
Joseph’s professional experience includes serving as Clinical Operations Director for a state laboratory, where he oversaw critical workflows and collaborated with the Department of Human Services and federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. His fieldwork in schools, correctional facilities, homes, and government buildings helped shape his ability to deliver ethical, trauma-sensitive care across diverse populations and high-pressure environments.
His academic journey began in General Studies and Respiratory Therapy before evolving into a deep focus on therapeutic development, sustainability, and community-based wellness. That transformation led to the founding of Nature’s Path Therapy—a practice where evidence-based psychology meets animal-assisted therapy, creative expression, and the healing rhythms of the natural world.
As a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), Joseph remains committed to research-driven, inclusive, and compassionate care. His work reflects a lifelong dedication to resilience, transformation, and the belief that healing is most powerful when rooted in nature and purpose.
Dario Ginella leads the development and daily operations of Nature’s Path Therapy’s evolving therapeutic retreat space with vision, discipline, and deep-rooted passion. Currently pursuing his degree in Business Management at Rogers State University, Dario brings a wealth of leadership experience shaped by his time in Philadelphia, Manhattan, and Detroit. His transition from fast-paced urban environments to the tranquil foothills of Northeast Oklahoma embodies his commitment to intentional living and human-centered design.
At Nature’s Path, Dario wears many hats—from managing the construction of our treehouse facilities and designing sustainable landscapes to overseeing the training and well-being of our therapy dogs. His work unites structural precision with heartfelt purpose, ensuring that each element of the retreat—from footpaths to kennels—supports healing, community, and connection.
As a proud Italian, Dario is also infusing the property with authentic cultural touches, including the addition of a rustic Italian villa and culinary gardens growing San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil, parsley, and other heritage herbs. These additions not only reflect his roots but will provide guests with a nourishing, sensory-rich experience—offering a taste of Italy in the heart of Oklahoma.
In addition to his operational leadership, Dario will also be guiding several of our upcoming services and experiences, bringing his grounded, compassionate approach to therapeutic offerings centered on nature, culture, and canine companionship. Dario’s contributions continue to shape Nature’s Path Therapy into a sanctuary where structure meets soul—and where every detail is cultivated with care, creativity, and purpose.
